Russell Nathan Bearrows

  Russell (Russ) Nathan Bearrows, 73, a longtime Livermore resident passed away peacefully with family, after a lengthy illness. Russ was born in Harvey, Illinois. He always fondly recalled growing up on his family’s farm in Rochelle, Illinois, with his younger sister, Susan, his parents and his grandparents. This experience influenced many of his interests later in his life. Russ’ father left the family farm in Illinois to move his family west when Russ was in junior high school. They briefly lived in Issaquah, Washington, until the family settled in Campbell, California, during Russ’ freshman year of high school. Russ attended Camden High School, graduating in 1965. He participated in a variety of high school sports, especially enjoying football. He had the opportunity to play football for San Jose State his freshman year of college.

Alameda County Fair Rescheduled for October

The Alameda County Fairgrounds, known for hosting the annual Fair every June, will reschedule its traditional celebration to Oct. 22 through Oct. 31. The event will comply with all State and local health requirements. It is anticipated that guests will be required to pre-purchase tickets online for specific dates and attendance will be limited. The Fair will utilize touchless, cashless systems for ticketing, parking, carnival, food and beverage purchases whenever feasible per the recommendations of the state reopening guidelines. In addition to enhanced cleaning and sanitization, it is believed that guests will be required to wear face masks while on the Fairgrounds and have their temperature checked prior to entering the Fair.

But this year s fair is scheduled for Oct. 22 through 31 instead of the summer. Guests will have to buy tickets online and attendance will be limited. Fairgoers will also have to wear a face mask, and everyone s temperature will be checked.
